I was in some type of hotel with my brother and mom (who was also my husband if that makes sense). I was standing in the room and had an uneasy feeling about the place and my mom felt the same, so I said we should leave. We got outside and then realized my brother was still sleeping inside the room so my mom went back in alone to find him. From outside, I could see the window of the hotel and it appeared like some creature or entity was watching through the window. At this point I had lucidly started praying to God, and trusting that he would protect me. I sat in the passenger seat of our truck waiting for my mom when suddenly there was someone beside me, I thought it was my brother but perhaps it wasn’t, and they started reversing the truck really quickly. I grabbed the keys from the ignition and saw we had backed into someone’s yard a bit. There was snow on the ground. Then the dream shifted a bit and the person and I were driving somewhere, away from the hotel. The next thing I remember the person had started trying to drive back the hotel and was saying “What are those green lights?”- which seemed to be coming from the hotel. At this point I was still praying to God and started spitting on my finger and touching the persons face with it saying “In the name of God”. I was feeling scared as I did not want to drive back to this hotel…
Your dream is rich with symbolism and emotions, reflecting both inner conflict and external anxieties. Let’s break it down into its key components to uncover the meanings behind them.
The hotel represents a transitional space, often reflecting feelings of uncertainty or impermanence in your life. It may symbolize a period where you feel out of place or unsettled. The presence of your brother and mom, where your mom also embodies the role of your husband, suggests a complex familial relationship and perhaps a blurring of boundaries in your real life, leading to confusion or anxiety about your roles and responsibilities.
The shared discomfort with your mom indicates a mutual awareness of something wrong—this could be an indication of underlying fears or apprehensions you both hold, perhaps in relation to family dynamics or external pressures. Your instinct to leave the hotel signifies your desire to escape from negative influences or situations that make you feel vulnerable.
The entity watching you through the window amplifies the sense of unease. This could represent a fear of the unknown, possibly embodying past traumas, insecurities, or even judgment—something lurking that is both familiar and ominous. The act of lucidly praying to God underscores a need for safety and guidance in confronting these fears, suggesting that you may be seeking spiritual protection or clarity in real life.
The truck symbolizes your journey in life and the control you have—or feel you lack—over your direction. Your desperate act of grabbing the keys illustrates your instinct to reclaim that control, asserting your will over a situation that feels chaotic. The swift reversal into someone’s yard evokes the feeling of encroaching on others’ spaces or responsibilities without intent, perhaps mirroring real-life feelings of violation or being out of bounds.
Snow may represent purity, but it can also signify confusion or a cold emotional state. A snowy setting often suggests feelings of isolation or a need for clarity amidst a fog of ambiguity.
The green lights that your companion sees could symbolize possible warning signs or indicators of something lurking in the background—perhaps fears intensifying or thoughts that refuse to dissipate. The fact that your companion expresses curiosity about these lights could indicate an aspect of your psyche that is trying to understand or rationalize fear.
Spitting on your finger and touching someone’s face while invoking God's name is ritualistic behavior, revealing both an attempt to protect yourself and perhaps to ward off negative energies. This act signifies a deep-seated need for spiritual intervention and a plea for help in dealing with forces that feel beyond your control.
Your dream encapsulates themes of fear, the quest for safety, and the struggle for control in the face of unsettling circumstances. It reflects a profound awareness of the complexities in your family dynamics and suggests you may be grappling with challenges that feel both external (represented by the hotel and the entity) and internal (represented by the truck and your inability to control the vehicle).
Ultimately, this dream may be urging you to confront and process these feelings head-on. Consider reflecting on your current circumstances and relationships, assessing where you feel out of control, and exploring spiritual or psychological avenues for comfort and groundedness. Dreaming of prayer signifies your deep desire for guidance; lean into that and trust it can lead you toward clarity.
